A Duverney fracture is an isolated pelvic fracture involving only the iliac wing, caused by direct trauma to that area. It is generally stable because it does not disrupt the weight-bearing pelvic ring. Duverney fractures are significant as isolated pelvic fractures that do not involve the weight-bearing pelvic ring, making them generally stable and often manageable without surgery.
